Image Bank - Lines

Here I have some images of lines in nature and some man-made lines. Each images shows a different variation of a line and how with just some lines you can make an amazing photograph. Lines can be found anywhere and it doesn't necessarily need to be a straight line it can be any kind of line. Lines are very interesting because they can do all sorts of things and can make a photograph rather interesting and adds layers to the image. Line is very basic and is normally found within all of the formal elements which make it an extremely easy thing to photograph but also an essential thing for every photo.

Here we have some lines in some rocks in from the different layers of rocks that have been compressed together. We can see the that there is also an element of contrast in the image as well between the lines. There is white and orange lines of different thickness and tone which makes the image extremely interesting. There is also a layer of depth in the image because the lines start rom the bottom and end at the top creating depth in the image.

This is a type crystal found in nature, that is made up of lots of  lines that form a square spiral going towards the centre.  This is also an example of a pattern as well because the lines form a pattern. This goes to show that line can be found in most of the formal elements and also shows how essential it is.

Here are two types of lines. In this image the photographer has manged to get an image of the depth of the trees and has the straight line of the trees in one direction. There is also the straight line of the trees going up as well. This is another example of line and linking in with other formal elements.

Here we can see the lines within a leaf. This photographer shows us the nature works in lines and shows us how systems work in lines. this shows that lines are essential for life as well because we can see the lines in a leaf which are used for transportation of stuff to the cells.

Here we have some plants that have been planted by a farmer to arrange out his crops. This photographer shows us that lines are also needed when organising out things. Lines are very good for organisation which forms a rather interesting image and makes it neater.

Here we see what happens when a photographer has the exposure  left of a camera on a motorway. We get theses lines of light leftover from when the cars go past. We have movement along with lines because it forms these liens of light when the car moves by the camera.
